Matthew Hothersall qualified in 1998 with a national firm of chartered accountants before moving into internal audit and management information for two multi-national companies. He heads our Newton le Willows office, which he set up in 2006
Catharine obtained her experience with a national firm of chartered accountants, before qualifying with us in 2000. She heads our Hindley office, where she specialises in accounts and tax advice for owner-managed businesses.
Margaret is the first person you speak to when arriving at our Hindley office. As well as reception duties, she is involved in credit control, staff welfare and support to the partners. She is the longest-serving staff member at the Hindley office.
Mike works at our Hindley and Aspull offices and prepares accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies, as well as preparing VAT returns and Corporation Tax returns. Mike is a member of the Association of Accounting Technicians.
Matthew prepares weekly and monthly payrolls for our clients, helping them comply with HMRC rules. He is also responsible for setting up limited companies, and ensuring clients meet Companies House regulations and deadlines.
Receptionist, Payroll and Administration Assistant
As well as being the receptionist at our Newton office, Carole is responsible for processing clients’ payrolls, ensuring they comply with HMRC regulation. She also works in credit control, and processes limited-company returns.
Tony established PA Hull & Co. in 1984. His experience of working as a management accountant for national construction firms and managing a major regional plumbing firm enables him to offer practical advice to local businesses.
Richard is a graduate of Lancaster University and joined us in July 2013. He prepares accounts, VAT returns and Corporation Tax returns for our clients. Richard is studying for the exams of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales.
Gillian prepares accounts, VAT returns and Corporation Tax returns for our clients. She assist with bookkeeping monthly or quarterly. She passed the exams of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants in 2004.
Peter heads our tax department and is tasked with preparing client tax returns and dealing with all other tax related matters. Peter is a member of the Association of Accounting Technicians and the Association of Taxation Technicians. Peter is also currently studying for the exams of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales.
Harriet is the receptionist at our Hindley office. She deals with the day to day office duties and offers administrative support to her fellow colleagues. Harriet is studying for her AAT qualification with a view to becoming an accounting technician.
Judith prepares the weekly & monthly payrolls at our Aspull office, submitting all the RTI information to HMRC and dealing with the auto enrolment pensions for employers. She also deals with all the day to day administration duties.
