Carole Peacock - Receptionist, Payroll and Administration Assistant
As well as being the receptionist at our Newton office, Carole is responsible for the processing of the payrolls of many clients and ensuring they comply with HMRC regulations. She is also responsible for credit control and the processing of limited company returns and provides administrative support to the other team members at our Newton office.
June Cooke - Receptionist
June is the receptionist at our Wigan office. If you ring the office, the first person you will speak to is likely to be June. She will always strive to help you speak to the person who can give you the advice you need to deal with your query quickly and efficiently.
Julie Fletcher - Payroll Manager
Julie has been with PA Hull since 2005 and looks after our Payroll department for Wigan and Bolton. In addition to dealing with day to day payroll, CIS and submission of all necessary monthly and annual returns, she is available to give advice or answer any questions you may have to ensure that the processing of your payroll runs as smoothly as possible.
Debra Halliwell - Accountant
Debra gained her experience working and supporting small businesses within the North West, implementing structures for effective use of accounting procedures which in turn helped businesses monitor their financial position. She works at our Wigan office and she specialises in book keeping, VAT and Accounts.
Angela Hilton - Accountant
Angela started her career as an Accountant when she joined us in 2006, after doing much of her studying whilst at home looking after her children. She qualified as a Chartered Accountant with P A Hull & Co in 2009 and is based in our Wigan Office, where her expertise in the Construction Industry is valued by many of our clients.
Clare Jady
Clare Jady qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1991 after working with national and local firms. Based in the Wigan office of P A Hull & Co., Clare now concentrates on providing regular management information and advice to business owners to help them plan for their business success.
Mike Heywood - VAT Manager
Mike has a varied role at the Hindley office, where his main duties include the preparation of sole trader and partnership accounts and the preparation of clients' VAT returns. He is responsible for maintaining the bookkeeping records of many clients either at the office or at their premises and he also prepares management accounts for clients who wish to view the performance of their business on a quarterly or monthly basis. Mike qualified as a member of the Association of Accounting Technicians in 2006.
Dominic Ball - Accounts Clerk
Dominic gained good commercial awareness through studying business and economics and was keen to put this to use in a career in accountancy. Currently studying for his AAT qualification, Dominic specialises in providing clients with regular Management accounts and full statutory annual accounts. On completion of his AAT qualification, he hopes to progress to become a Chartered Accountant with the ICAEW.
Matthew Campbell - Payroll and Administration Assistant
Matthew's main role is preparing weekly and monthly payrolls for our Hindley office clients and helping them to comply with the many HMRC rules. He is also responsible for the set up of limited companies and ensuring that our clients comply with Companies' House regulations and deadlines. In addition, he also provides administrative support to other members of the team and to our clients.
Catherine Hothersall
Catharine Hothersall obtained her experience with a national firm of Chartered Accountants, before qualifying with P A Hull & Co. in 2000. After working in our Wigan office, she now heads our Hindley office, where she specialises in Accounts and Tax Advice for owner-managed businesses. Catharine is married with young children.
Liam Pearson - Accounts Clerk
Liam started at P A Hull in 2006 after the completion of his A-Levels. He has since passed his AAT qualification in 2009 and hopes to start his ICAEW qualification shortly. He is based at the Bolton office where he is involved in all area of accounts preparation, VAT & book-keeping and tax.
Graham Pearson - Bolton Manager
Graham manages our Bolton Office where he is responsible for a wide range of business clients. He has helped us to grow our client base there since the office opened in 2005. Previous to this, he worked in industry, ran his own small business, and studied for his Accountancy qualifications, so his experience has proved useful in being able to give very practical advice to our clients.
Ged Hull
Ged Hull qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1990 having completed his training with a national firm in Manchester. Based in the Wigan and Bolton offices of P A Hull & Co., Ged specialises in Tax Planning and Strategic Planning for a variety of businesses. He is married to Clare and they have three children.
Brian Storey - Tax Consultant
Brian is the senior member of the tax team at our Hindley and Newton offices. Prior to joining P A Hull & Co in 2007, he was an Inspector of Taxes at HMRC and so is able to provide a comprehensive service when dealing with tax enquiries and investigations. He regularly meets with clients to discuss their future tax positions and discuss how changes in tax legislation affect them.
Matthew Hothersall
Matthew Hothersall qualified in 1998 with a national firm of Chartered Accountants before moving into internal audit and management information for two multi-national companies. He came back to general practice in 2006 when he was responsible for setting up the Newton le Willows branch of P A Hull & Co.
Gillian Green - Accountant
Gillian works at our Newton office where her role involves the preparation of accounts for limited companies, sole traders and partnerships and the preparation of VAT returns for many of our clients. She also prepares the Corporation Tax returns for limited company clients and enjoys visiting many clients to assist with bookkeeping on a monthly or quarterly basis. She passed the exams of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants in 2004.
Rebecca Hitchen - Administration
Rebecca is our administrator at the Wigan office and helps in all aspects of the practice administration from making sure the post goes out on time to overseeing our paperless office system. She especially enjoys setting the questions for our annual Charity Quiz.
Margaret Burton - Reception
Margaret is the first person you speak to at our Hindley office. As well as reception duties, she gets involved in credit control, staff welfare and provides support to the partners. She is the longest serving staff member at the Hindley office.
Tony Hull
Tony Hull established P A Hull & Co. in 1984, after having spent his career as a Management Accountant for national construction firms. This experience, together with that gained from running a major regional plumbing firm, has enabled him to advise many local businesses in a very practical way and he still acts as a consultant for clients of P A Hull & Co. Recently, he and his wife Winnie were proud to join in the celebrations for the 25th Anniversary of P A Hull & Co.
Claire Traynor - Tax Assistant
Claire's main responsibility is for preparing self assessment tax returns for our varied range of clients at the Hindley office and she also deals with HMRC enquiries on behalf of our clients. She has background knowledge in payroll systems and regulations and provides support in this area. To build on her work experience, she is training towards the Association of Tax Technicians qualification.
David Arden - Accounts Clerk
David works at our Wigan office and is currently progressing through his AAT qualification and is hoping to proceed to a full professional qualification with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. He is currently involved in all aspects of accountancy including Management Accounts, VAT Returns and accounts preparation.
Lindsey Longmate - Accountant
Lindsey started work for us in 1996, and after gaining her AAT qualification, she continued her studies and qualified as a Chartered Certified Accountant in 2005. She has recently been awarded fellowship status by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants. Lindsey is based in our Wigan Office where she specialises in producing Limited Company accounts and provides valuable accounts advice for Companies and their directors.
